The Weekly Embroidery Machine Maintenance Checklist
Mike 'The Mechanic' 2025-10-19
A Clean Machine is a Happy Machine
Embroidery generates a massive amount of lint. If that lint gets into your sensors or gears, your $10,000 machine becomes a paperweight.
Daily / Every Project
- Clean the bobbin area with a brush (never canned air! it blows lint deeper inside).
- Check the needle for burrs.
Weekly
- Oil the Hook: One drop of sewing machine oil on the rotary hook race. (Check manual).
- Check the Needle Bar: Remove the cover and wipe down old grease/lint.
Yearly
Take it to a certified technician for timing adjustment and deep cleaning. It's like an oil change for your car—non-negotiable.
